Waiting on Wednesday: Zombies vs. Unicorns

On a general basis, I don't like anthologies. But there's something about this one. Maybe it's because it's a bunch of my favorite authors, maybe because this is one of those questions that I find myself switching sides on on a regular basis and I'm hoping that this might help me make the final decision, and maybe it's because I just can't say no to such an awesome cover. But any way you look at it, I'm super excited about this book.

Update: Magic Under Glass

In this post, I discussed my disgust with Bloomsbury for their inacurate covers of both Liar by Justine Larbalestier and Magic Under Glass by Jaclyn Dolamore. They fixed the Liar cover, but at that point had still done nothing about Magic Under Glass.

But now (and this may be old news to some of you but it only just now came to my attention), they've released a new cover for MUG as well:

Again?!?

Many of you, I'm sure, heard about the huge controversy over the cover of Justine Larbalestier's Liar, on which Bloomsbury, the publisher, used a white model when the character was very distinctly described as black. There was a huge outrage over this headed up by Justine Larbalestier herself, that quickly and forcefully spread throughout the bologosphere. Eventually, Bloomsbury caved to the pressure and changed the cover.

So, having already been through this whole process once before, you would think that Bloomsbury would have learned. But apparently not. Because they've done it again.

Magic Under Glass by Jaclyn Dolamore looks to be in a similar predicament:

This is another book with a dark-skinned protaganist that has a white model on the cover. It hasn't been blown up quite as much as Liar was, but it's still causing quite a stink. The Story Siren has a great post about it, as does Reading in Color and GAL Novelty.
